Lakewood Theatre Company 2012-2013 Season to Include SOUTH PACIFIC, WHITE CHRISTMAS, RUMORS, More

Lakewood Theatre Company will celebrate its 60th anniversary season with six productions on its Mainstage and three productions on its Side Door stage beginning July 13, 2012. Season tickets for the 2012-2013 season are on sale now and prices for the six-show season range from $170.00 - $160.00. Performances are Thursday -Saturday at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 7:00 PM and some Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Season tickets can be purchased at the LTC Box Office at 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Box Office hours are 9-5 weekdays and 10-4 on Saturdays. Call 503-635-3901 to charge your order by phone. Welcome to our 60th season! The anniversary year with includes such highlights as the Pulitzer Prize winning musical South Pacific, the provocative comedy 'ART' and the Portland area premiere of the musical Grand Hotel. Plus, orders received before June 1 will receive discounted tickets to our summer show, the British comedy, See How They Run.

This year also includes new added options for subscribers. Now subscribers can pre-order tickets to our Lost Treasures Collection Series on our Side Door stage, Lakewood in Lights (our holiday gala and fundraiser) and a special reprise of last year's run away hit, Irving Berlin's White Christmas for December 2012!

Set during World War II, this Pulitzer Prize-winning musical tells the romantic story of two couples and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and prejudices. The show is based on the 2008 Broadway revival of "South Pacific," which won seven Tony Awards. The beloved score's songs include "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," "This Nearly Was Mine" and "There is Nothin' Like a Dame."

Come spend an evening at the Grand Hotel Berlin. It's 1928 and the optimism between World Wars is in full swing. Based on the novel by Vicki Baum and subsequent MGM feature film, the musical captures the high life and optimism of Berlin in 1928. The hotel brings together vibrant characters, both wealthy and poor, where "one life ends while another begins," and "one heart breaks while another beats faster."

Lakewood Theatre Company reprises last year's hit, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, a delightful new musical based on the 1954 smash hit movie. Two army buddies have a successful song-and-dance act after the war. The two follow beautiful singing sisters to a Christmas gig at a Vermont lodge owned by their former Army commander. The boys are the only guests at the resort because there is no snow! To help the General, they come up with a scheme to bring in a crowd. The show features Irving Berlin hits such as "Blue Skies," "Sisters," "Happy Holiday," "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," and the title song, "White Christmas."

Lakewood Theatre Company presents on its Side Door Stage for 2012-13 The Lost Treasures Collection - a unique series of three plays. Each attraction is performed for one weekend only! The Lost Treasures Collection now in its third season, is a series of obscure and rarely performed musicals presented in concert/cabaret version on our Side Door stage, an intimate 90-seat venue. No sets, no props (none of the usual trappings of a fully staged production).

For his final Broadway score, Irving Berlin went straight to the office of President to evoke the humanity within the First Family. President Henderson is en route to Russia when the proposed Soviet tour is canceled. A breach of protocol costs him his re-election. While his wife and two children are grateful to return home, the former President is not. Eventually he proudly returns to government at the behest of the new president.

The story of the rise to power of New York's Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia (1882-1947). "Tammany Hall" was up to its ears in graft, vice and corruption and it took this small, honest man to break their stranglehold on New York City politics. With guts and perseverance the "Little Flower" put a bright, new shine on the "Big Apple."

Ambassador Sally Adams, with slim credentials, is sent off to administer in the tiny duchy of Lichtenburg. Love is threatened by the stuffy opposition, who eventually succeed in wrangling Sally's recall, but not before all has resolved happily for the lovers.
